Contested deletion
editThis article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... I'm in the process of including more information on the author. He has three books and his a major "player" in Southern Literature. He is very important --SoftlyandTenderly (talk) 22:09, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
- I've declined this since the award would give some assertion of notability enough to pass speedy criteria (the IPPYs are somewhat giving off vanity award vibes, but the SC award looks like it could show some notability), but Eeekster could still very well tag this for deletion as WP:G11 (promotional) since it is very, very promotionally written. Barring Eeekster doing that, AfD is the only other deletion outlet here. In the meantime I'd recommend that you clean this up to remove the promotional tones and source this via reliable sources that are independent of McManus (or anything affiliated with him).
