Harvard AM?
editEarned or honorary? This article is all over the place. Can we not have a conventional piece with Early Life, etc, rather than this haphazard mystery? Hanoi Road (talk) 22:21, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
Images
editCommons has a vast collection of public domain images of the mayor, and, from it, we're using sub-par group photos in the body of the article. Shouldn't we do better? SecretName101 (talk) 10:30, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

Hello. Thank you for nominating this article at GAN. Per WP:GAFAIL #2, I will have to quick fail this nomination as it contains copyright violations. Specifically, there are copyright violations with the 1993 Cornell source. Per Commons:Hirtle chart, 1993 USA sources that are not governmental works are automatically copyrighted. This work is from the National Civic League, which is not affiliated with the USA government. Content from this source was added by you in 2021, meaning this is not a backwards copy. Comparing Dreier 1993 to the Wikipedia article, here are the copied/closely paraphrased sentences that need to be reworded:
- Page 390:
- "poised for a long and tense strike"
- "that they could not count on the Boston Police Department to protect strikebreakers or preserve order outside and within hotel establishments."
- "open new branches, change lending and hiring practices, and to collaborate more closely with community development corporations and community groups."
- Page 391:
- "found the city's major banks to be discriminating in their mortgage lending, hiring, and branch location practices."
- issue a regular city-sponsored "report card" on bank practices"
- "that had been abandoned by their owners."
- Page 392:
- "strong voice in planning and development, as well as other decisions, through neighborhood councils, zoning committees, and project-specific advisory groups."
- "in turning around troubled HUD projects"
These sentences do not pass WP:LIMITED as they have unique phrasing such as "poised", "could not count on", "strong voice" and "turning around". Although there are high percentage matches of Merry 1993 (Washington Post) and Connolly 1998 (Christian Science Monitor), these are properly quoted. While I have not examined the entire article for copyright violations, I believe that all of the prose cited to Dreier 1993 needs to be re-examined for copyvio/close paraphrasing. I hope you are encouraged to work through these issues and renominate this article to GAN.
