Raziye's mother
editAccording to article Mahidevran, Raziye was Mahidevran's daughter. According to this article Raziye's mother was Fulane (meaning more or less ambiguous.) Which is correct ? Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 10:14, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
- Dear Nedim Ardoğa, I think Mahidevran is her mother not Fulane.Keivan.fTalk 11:46, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
- A serious source ? Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 14:37, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
I also think that Mahidevran Sultan was the mother of Raziye Sultan,as she died in 1522 when Fulane Hatun was not in the harem, but Mahidevran Sultan was the Bas kadin of Sultan Suleiman the magnificent. Khondoker Jobair (talk) 06:03, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
Many modern sources of questionable origin list Raziye as the daughter of Mahidevran, but she could not have been Raziye's mother. We know nothing about the identity of her mother. According to some sources, one of Süleyman’s sons, Murad, was her full brother. According to a pre-1515 register, Mahidevran had the lowest stipend in Manisa, which would have been impossible if she had already given birth to a child. Mahidevran could not have given birth after 1515, because with the birth of Mustafa her sexual relationship with Süleyman came to an end. As a prince, Süleyman followed the one-concubine-one-son tradition, which meant he could only have a sexual relationship with a concubine until she gave birth to a son. Mahidevran, therefore, could not have given birth to any children after 1515, because by then Mustafa was already born; and before 1515 her salary precluded her from having been a mother. Her mother's name is mentioned as Mahidevran Sultan in the grave records of Raziye. This information was recorded in 1556. She passed away in 1556. You cannot change this fact. This information is written in Yahya Efendi tomb. Cihangir751 (talk) 17:31, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
On balance, considering all the evidence, Raziye Sultan is the daughter of an unknown concubine of Sultan Suleiman when he was still a Sehzade. She accompanied her brothers Sehzade Mahmud, Sehzade Mustafa and Sehzade Murad to Constantinople when her father ascended to the throne. Its highly likely she died due to smallpox with her two elder brothers Sehzade Mahmud and Sehzade Murad in October 1521. Metrix2748474 (talk) 09:25, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

Taşlıcalı Yahya Bey
editAccording to this article, she was married to Taşlıcalı Yahya Bey Dukagjini, supporter of Prince Şehzade Mustafa. This means that Yahya Bey Dukagjini was the son-in-law of Suleiman the Magnificent ???, which is not mentioned anywhere.
Furthermore, Taşlıcalı mean from Taşlica which is in Montenegro, not in Anatolia, thus we are speaking of a different person.
This book page 106 clearly states that Raziye Hatun (not Sultan) had 2 sons and 1 daughter, married many times, between other with Yahya Efendi. This Yahya between others was the Kadi of Mecca in 1597, while the Taşlıcalı Yahya Bey died in 1582 in the Balkans, and hasn't been outside Balkan since his exile (when Prince Mustafa was killed).
Further, this Yahya that married Raziye Hatun (or Raziye Sultan) was named Zakariezade Yahya, and live past 1600.
Thus, whoever drafted the article, please revise it from start. I don't speak Turkish and most of the sources are in Turkish, otherwise i would have checked it myself.
