notability

edit

I believe this band fulfills the following notability criterion:

5. Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years, and with a roster of performers, many of whom are independently notable).

10. Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, such as ... inclusion on a notable compilation album.

For point 5: the band has released nine studio albums and five live albums, and this is simply verifiable on Discogs (now cited explicitly rather than just linked). The first two albums were on an important German punk label (perhaps the best known one), Wierd System, which was founded in 1982 and still exists today. Their two most recent albums were released on Höhne Records (established 1991 and still operating) and then Major Label (established in 1998 and still operating). Both of these labels are well-known in the German punk scene, and have wikipedia pages of their own.

For point 10: I've listed in the introduction the most significant compilations they contributed to. These were albums that were released again by important punk labels, and distributed across Germany.

They have been discussed in two books that are independent of the band. I've put those citations at the top. They have been reviewed and interviewed multiple times by Ox Fanzine and Away From Life, well-known magazines associated with German punk. They have been reviewed by Maximum Rocknroll, which demonstrates international recognition. Since this is a German punk band from the 1980s, that is a lot of press (they are not going to be discussed in Newsweek...)

I would welcome any suggestions, contributions, or advice. Snowflakedivertor (talk) 00:55, 3 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
