This article is horrible. Perhaps I should fix that.
editThe commentary in this article mostly talks about the device not doing things it was never designed to do without stating it wasn't designed to do those things. That's unhelpful and borders on misinformation by framing it as being bad at things it doesn't try to do. 104.230.65.206 (talk) 14:46, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
- It seems reasonably well balanced to me. Regarding the first sentence, "sluggishness when loading and unloading files", it seems reasonable to mention it even if the company doesn't explicitly tout the product as "speedy and spritely when it loads and unloads file!". The second sentence observes "but it doesn't do much else well", presumably referring to things the product does do and that the company means for it to do. The third discusses limiting factors in the context of similar products but also some positives. As an analogy, consider our age when every smartphone has a screen capture feature. If a company were to issue a phone that didn't have one, it would be fair to mention that, even if the company didn't claim that the phone did offer that feature. Questions on this, and devices such as the "Boogie Board", and if their display technology deserves it's own page and/or additions to the related pages
edit- I was wondering if these devices use E-Ink or LCDs
- I have a "HUION Inspiroy Ink" and the front is a standard pressure sensitive touchpad, but the back has some sort of passive and erasable writing thing
- They referred to it as an LCD Writing Tablet
- I was thinking it was something akin to an Etch A Sketch or Magna Doodle , but made at a scale of Lithography etc
- Some sites are saying it uses LCD, or like this, E-Paper etc
- I was just wondering what the mechanism is, and if there is a page on it
- Seems to be using an CR2025 Battery for the clearing function, and if it isn't E-Ink for the sustaining as well
Merge and/or Creation of a page for the general technology behind This and the [Boogie board (product)]] (and similar products)
edit- I checked, and there is a page for the Boogie board (product) (a passive(-ish, uses a battery, but i do not know if this is for "holding" the state, or just for the erasing) writing display)
- I was wondering if a page on that display method / something similar utilizing E-Paper would be of use?
- An Addition to the Applications subsection of Liquid Crystal Display may work just as well

Rename article to reMarkable 1 and move information related to the company to another page
editThis article is talking about information not relevant to this specific product - eg, the company that has created it, and therefore I'm suggesting that this article is rewritten with unrelated info removed. Holmsey124 (talk) 03:12, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
