Questions about the information in the article
editThere has been some discussion on my talk page about this article, so I thought I'd summarize some points here so that it's with the article itself, Are1718:
- There's a source from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation, Pennsylvania that says that Reading Creek is a branch of the West Branch Neshaminy Creek (Neshaminy Creek). I cannot find a source that say it is a tributary of Arrowhead Spring Creek, which I see is now renamed to Arrowhead Spring Creek (Reading Creek) from Arrowhead Spring Creek (West Branch Neshaminy Creek). (I assume that there is a citation for a published source for this and will check on that article talk page).
- In reviewing sources, its appropriate to question how reliable a source is. A published source, from the state is more reliable that looking on a map or driving the area. We need a published source.... that's the nature of WP:Verifiability and WP:Reliable sources.
- I do agree that there are times when Google maps can be used as a source... for information that is clearly identifiable from the map. But extrapolating information that goes against published sources, isn't a proper use of google maps.
- I totally understand writing from example, and have done that myself as a starting point. But, there should not be parent categories if there are subcategories represented in the article. So, if there's a category for rivers in a county in Pennsylvania, then the main category for Lists of Rivers of Pennsylvania is not needed.–CaroleHenson (talk) 04:40, 18 June 2017 (UTC)
