Hsu
editCan't really include this in the article, but just FYI for anyone who might work on this in the future: the Hsu Huan story, which is referenced a lot in the article, is actually a bit controversial and caused quite a stir in the blogosphere. Most of the stuff you can find through a link included in teh article itself, to Tim Harris' post...but there's a good summary of the hubbub here, and Hsu's blog response here. Basically, a lot of people got up in arms over Hsu's appearing to attack Real Change (although personally I think his article wasn't that bad) and suggesting that the paper is more about "charity buying" than actual news, which an image they have been trying to get away from since 2005 (Tim Harris' blog has a good summary of it here, with fewer swear words than usual).
Anyway, personally I think Hsu's article is still a great source of information for a tertiary source of this, we just need to be judicious in how we use it. Specifically, I have avoided mentioning some of the more controversial bits (for example, about the "turf system"... Harris and RC staff claim that it helps decrease vendor competition; the Hsu article cites one unidentified vendor as saying it actually increases competition, but a lot of this blog mumbo jumbo that happened has criticized that claim since it came from just one anonymous person). rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 22:44, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
