I'll review this. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 02:38, 21 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'll copyedit as I go; please revert any mistakes.

  • Characteristically, this subduction process is not accompanied by much earthquake activity: as written, this means that it is typical for subduction processes not to be accompanied by much earthquake activity. Is that the intended meaning? If so, no change is needed. Or is this saying that this particular subduction process is not characterized by much earthquake activity?
Removed the word.
  • outcrops in Tierra del Fuego lack biotite unlike closer deposits, which also lack mica: "also" seems wrong here; it refers to the "closer deposits", doesn't it? If so it should be cut.
Removed confusing wording.
  • Are the R1 eruption and the eruption mentioned at the start of "Late Pleistocene and Holocene" the same eruption? The dates are close, but you discuss them differently and don't say they're the same. If they're definitely two different eruptions, I'd say so when mentioning the second one.
Maybe. The problem with these volcanoes in southernmost South America is that their eruption chronology is usually based on remote tephra occurrences and these cannot be easily correlated. My sense is that the 12,000 BP eruption falls somewhat out of the accepted age range for the R1 eruption and is thus most likely a separate one, and I only have partial source access to the source for the latter eruption.

If the sources don't talk about the last point, I guess we can't either. Promoting. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 23:13, 21 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
