1633

There was a great migration of tens of thousands of people from England prior to the English Civil War. On March 31, 1633 the Recovery set sail from Weymouth, Dorset, England. Twenty six passengers are listed in the manifest as having set sail with intention of disembarking in Plymouth Colony, most of those have documented descendants living in the United States and Canada today.

Owner, want to add an earlier entry?

There are numerous documents on the Recovery, including entire books. Here is one brief summary on the web.
