Legality

edit

In Germany, most of Slysoft's products are illegal. This is probably true for the whole EC, isn't it? --141.3.48.218 (talk) 15:42, 3 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

No, US's fascistic DMCA law does not apply here (UK) --87.114.9.99 (talk) 19:33, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reclock

edit

SlySoft does not actually own, distribute, nor control ReClock. The product is a Separate independent development; open source, and publicly updated. It's actually controlled by the LibAVC group; and the compiled Windows version available on SlySoft's site makes note of that. Lostinlodos (talk) 04:41, 1 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Elaborate Bytes

edit

What is the relationship between Slysoft and Elaborate Bytes? Why does the article not address Elaborate Bytes AG? The relationship is obvious, though the nature is unclear. Why does Slysoft distribute CloneDVD2 which is copyrighted by Elaborate Bytes AG, Cham, Switzerland? Why is that one package copyrighted by another company while the rest of the suite is copyrighted by Slysoft? 67.160.156.70 (talk) 18:17, 29 March 2011 (UTC) Answer: SlySoft is a marketing partner with Elaborate Bytes AG and both companies offer and support CloneDVD2. SlySoft is actually a reseller of CloneDVD2 and also provides the free Virtual CloneDrive from Elaborate Bytes and supports these as well with staff. The rest of the package is indeed copyrighted by SlySoft. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Expat83 (talkcontribs) 15:10, 11 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Closure

edit

We need to remove all links to SlySoft's pages on their products. I have already removed the links on one of their products, replacing the URL with "Removed for legal reasons". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.94.11.238 (talk) 04:14, 25 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

RedFox page rather inaccurate

edit

SlySoft is a separate entity from RedFox; and RedFox has no connection to SlySoft.
redfox is a brand new company created and founded (and funded) by former employees who took their IP with them when SlySoft folded. It's quite well documented that "James" et al were starting their own company and that they had not been paid for quite some time. Lostinlodos (talk) 05:41, 2 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

The above is inaccurate as well partially

edit

James nor any of the former staff said they were starting their own company. All that was said was a statement on the forum if the community would like to see AnyDVD continue. The rest is well known. On the RedFox Forums at least.

The following are the only correct items as of the founding of RedFox, which should be stated on the main article. NOT the talk page that nobody reads.

- RedFox is NOT a company. It is a closed source project. Companies have a central location. RedFox doesn't. Completely different thing. - RedFox is NOT located in Belize. The domain name is, no more no less. A location needs a central location, RedFox doesn't have that - SlySoft did NOT reform into RedFox. SlySoft got SHUT DOWN by the Antiguan authorities under pressure of the MPAA / AACS-LA. You cannot reform something that is shut down. - The "Brand" SlySoft did NOT get replaced with RedFox. SlySoft was the COMPANY name. The brand was "AnyDVD HD", which is still named as such. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.116.231.13 (talk) 20:34, 5 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
