SEAL?

edit

Red Cell was never part of the SEAL command structure. The team did include many ex-SEAL team members, but was never an actual SEAL team. Red Cell was developed under command authority of Asst. CNO

and how do you know that?

Some of you are right, some are wrong, 1 fact is NSCT was the name for the Naval Security Coordination Team, Red Cell was the code name for the funding, It was staffed by all ex-Seal Team 6 operators but one, The unit videoed all ops and had a lawyer present until Ace Lyons left the project and thats when the Seal Beach SNAFU went down. Red Cell also was and as far as i know as of right now the only Commando unit based out of the Pentagon, things may have changed im relecting on old facts that I remember, my brain is a bit dusty on the subject so ill leave it there, but in all .......WE NEED THE PROGRAM TO START BACK, DICK WAS RIGHT!!!!!

Re: Red Cell

edit

I never said that Red Cell was a part of a SEAL Team's command structure, I just said that Mr. Marcinko had a couple of teams of SEAL members that were the "first" of Red Cell. They "tested" the security of many bases, and "won" most of the time. True, the team was developed by Asst. CNO, but they used at first Marcinko's team. If you read the book Rouge Warrior, by Richard Marcinko, copyrighted in 1992, and published by Pocket Books, a division of Simon & Schuster Inc, you will know what really happened. I didn't make any of this up, so just read the book and find out yourself. Prottos007 03:14, 9 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced, essay-like

edit

In fact, he did his job so good that, after Ted Lyons was promoted, he was put under investigation from all the admirals he messed with. Richard was found guilty and put in a "Federal Correction Facility" for 21 months. Lots of letters and notes came from former and current members of SEAL Team Six, although all Team members were warned that any contact with Richard would result in their membership removed. He was also in jail when Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm happened. A buddy of his offered command of SEAL Team Six for an operation in Baghdad area because he thought that Richard could reduce the casualty rate to about 40%, but Richard refused. A cryptic note came later from the buddy that said "Dear French Fuck--Cease, but always remember what tommy H told you. Signed, Until We Meet Again Under Better Conditions." In phonetic French, "Fuck Cease" becomes Phoque Six-- SEAL SIX. "Tommy H" was the chief of naval operations that told Richard not to fail, and "Better Conditions" meant that Richard's buddy hoped that a better time would come to mess with the navy. A autobiography by Richard is also available called Rogue Warrior[citation needed]

I took out this chunk from the article. It is unreferenced, and it does not seem particularly relevant to this article. If someone would like to find reliable sources, they can put it back in. --Rifleman 82 09:49, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reference

edit

I don't know how to put a citation or make a reference, but I want to put this paragraph in the article, so could someone help me?

P.S. Don't tell me to look at the article for citing sources because I already have and it didn't help me any. Prottos007 03:14, 9 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think your additions are still unreferenced, apart from the last sentence about his book. For NPOV reasons, if he wrote it in his book, it probably won't be a strong reference. That assertion should probably be put in the right context, to the lines of "Marcinko claims that ...". I can help you do the references, if you tell me exactly *what* the reference is. --Rifleman 82 03:34, 9 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, as I've said, the reference I got ALL the information from is a book called Rogue Warrior, printed and copyrighted in 1998, by Penguin House, so I don't know what else to put down. Prottos007 23:22, 10 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've cleaned up the language to be more encyclopedic, and I have directly attributed it to Marcinko in-text to avoid any ambiguity that this is a WP:NPOV statement. I cut the entire paragraph down to one line, because much of your text was not directly relevant to "Red Cell". Since this article is so short already, having a big chunk of tangentially-related text will make it quite imbalanced. --Rifleman 82 02:04, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
