Translation of geographical names or not?

edit

Should we translate geographical names in the article headings, or should we stick to the original ones (or their Latin transcriptions), in this case "Rote Pockau"? --Schlosser67 (talk) 10:42, 2 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

The convention is at Wikipedia:WikiProject Germany/Conventions although it doesn't cover this issue. Normally river names are not translated at all unless there is a common English name like Rhine. However, for geographical names including rivers it is quite common practice to translate certain adjectives such as compass directions ("North") or colours ("Red"). --Bermicourt (talk) 10:59, 2 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
OK, then let's leave the title as it is. --Schlosser67 (talk) 11:24, 2 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
