Summary Size

edit

When adding a summary to an episode this season, please try to keep the size to 1 paragraph to avoid large file sizes and sloppy writing. MakeDamnSure 00:02, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Of course, the summaries should not be needlessly long. I do find however that these final episodes have way more content than previous episodes, making it hard to summarise them in a small paragraph. I added the summary today, and it appears that in less than 30 minutes, people have made so many edits that now, the summary is more than two times the size I started out with. It might be useful to adjust the maximum to, say, 1.5 times the standard size. I find the current summary to be way too long, but I'm not going to shorten it until I know just how much I can shorten to satisfy everyone. Jelco.galactaboy 19:38, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Voice actor for Grif's sister

edit

So... any idea who the voice behind Grif's sister is? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.160.30.234 (talkcontribs)

It gas been revealed as the user "Becca" from the Rooster Teeth community. — TKD::Talk 11:02, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Captain Flowers?

edit

Episode 82 the references that Grif's sister use seem to imply that she was sent to the BLUE team, not the red team. Could it be that command has finally decided to promote Church to captain? --Doncroft 04:34, 7 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Possibly, but it'd be original research for us to speculate about it the article proper. There are any number of possible interpretations. — TKD::Talk 04:36, 7 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Aren't we allowed to speculate in the discussion sections of each article?Doncroft 05:04, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
The discussion (talk) pages of the article are really meant for discussing the article and improvements to it, not about the subject matter that the article covers. — TKD::Talk 05:33, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sorry about that. Well regardless, my theory has been confirmed. Episode 84 reveals that Grif's sister was sent by Blue Command (even though Red and Blue commands are the same). It also reveals that the leader died of an aspirin overdose, which positively identifies the dead leader as none other than Captain...Butch...Flowers. Church could be up for a promotion. However, my gut tells me that it will be Tucker who gets promoted, since Church is legally dead. How ironic.--Doncroft 14:15, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I think Caboose will be promoted. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.54.12.79 (talk) 22:10, 8 December 2006 (UTC).Reply
Not likely. Caboose currently ranks as a private, while Tucker's current ranking is private first class. Doncroft 03:16, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Not that the distinction means much in this series. Rooster Teeth has shown that they'll manipulate whatever they need to for the sake of comedy — which is one reason why the plot summaries need to stick to the obvious, and why original research is bad. — TKD::Talk 03:35, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Even though it is often proven accurate.--Doncroft 14:29, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
There's a difference between one theory out of dozens being correct, and being able to assume from mere hints. Simply go back one episode to when everyone was sure O'Malley was in Church to see the point: you can't assume anything in this series. -- Viewdrix 19:51, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Grif's Sister's Name

edit

GS? .. Although I can see how using "Grif's Sister" is repetitive, it looks weird to put "GS". --65.30.35.19 05:19, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

At some point, this article should probably be copyedited to use her proper name, Sister. GS is indeed an unprofessional and unnecessary abbreviation. — TKD::Talk 11:02, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
In a sponsor thread, Burns revealed it to be simply "Sister", and Tucker's child to officially be called "Junior". -- Viewdrix 00:10, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Black Armour

edit

Is it me or is that the Out Of Mind music that plays when the Black Armour appears in episode 86? -- DTWATKINS 21:34, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's Tex's traditional "A Girl Named Tex" theme music. Played just about everytime Tex makes an unexpected appearance. Dac 12:17, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Wait, Grif's sister is color-blind, could it be doc? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.64.206.45 (talk) 00:20, 29 December 2006 (UTC).Reply
Black isn't really a colour, per se. It's a shade. That's why there's a colourless setting called black-and-white. Dac 07:59, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Episode 91 Background Figures

edit

I noticed that the information relating to the background figures in the episode 91 description was removed as original research. As I understand it original research is meant to cover individual interpretations not directly supported by the source material (the episode) would not the mere fact that these figures exist in the source material make them worthy of inclusion in the episode description? Just as episode 57 of season 3 once reffered to "an unknown alien" before the character of the Alien was known and the description altered to reflect the new knowledge.Ccs4ever 20:32, 6 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

The episode you refer to, episode 57, says "unknown character" in a VERY brief mention at the end of the synopsis. It doesn't outright state which shot at which point in the episode it refers to, nor what the character was, as that's way too specific, which is what we had here. Something like what 57 would be more appropriate, something like "this episode featured two figures ducking behind a rock" at the end of the synopsis, would be better. However, I'll leave that for the others to discuss. Dac 07:56, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
I am considering adding this line as a reference "At this point two unknown figures are seen in the background briefly before they exit the scene, unbeknownst to the Reds." At the end of "he claims that he was questioned by his captors"
It seems worthy of a note, but not so much that it distracts from the rest of the episode description, and plotwise something like the nice-to-know reference that Junior was born 'like an hour ago.' Making it a reference keeps it in the context of the Reds' scene without overloading it with this piece of information's currently arguable triviality. Of Course only if this is something people agree with and are willing to get behind. Ccs4ever 19:16, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Unless the characters show up later and it is implied that they were, in fact, hiding at that point, they should be left out of the summary. Background characters often mistakenly appear in machinima productions. See the blue base in episode 23 (retconned as a time-traveling Church in episode 51), a gray or black character as the camera zooms in on Grif, Simmons and Tucker in episode 48, the windmill in episode 54, and some other time in season 5 during a Blue-team-with-Sister scene, I believe episode 86, for background characters who accidentally made it into a shot, just off the top of my head. -- Viewdrix 20:40, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
That is a good point and something I failed to consider. I know that speculation is bad and not allowed in the wiki proper, however here I believe that this was not a mistake or goof because it involves two coordinated individuals, who I am told are Elites not Spartans who are carrying the Needler (arguably the weapon used to stun Grif and Simmons). Was there ever a case before now of two figures wandering into a shot and then leaving immediately after? Ever an Elite and not a Spartan? As I say I can only suppose and this is not allowed or else we could easily support a goofs section like on tv.com Ccs4ever 21:35, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Maybe not walking in and leaving a shot, but early in Season One Lopez was wandering around in the background for no discernable reason. They are definitely Elites, but the weapon they're carrying is too far away to be seen. In any case, let's just leave it out for now. Dac 22:04, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Since the two characters have reappeared in episode 92 and look set to become a primary antagonist in Season 5, should mention of them be included now? RandomGuy42 05:10, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not yet. At the moment, all we've seen visually about them are their feet, their colours, the Needler, and Andy. From dialogue, all we know is that they are in some way connected to the sword and Junior. We have no names, no affiliations, no voice actors, and no substantial information. We can wait until their big reveal. Dac 06:45, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Episode 96: "Captain Butchflowers"

edit

Methinks the laughter at the end of the episode implies that Butchflowers is actually Wyoming in disguise. Should perhaps this be mentioned, yes?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Razorthe6249th (talkcontribs)

It's speculation, and as such doesn't belong.--Drat (Talk) 11:31, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Dude how could it be Wyoming in disguise when he is at Red base?!? Its not even speculation. He obviously is infected by O'Malley. 67.175.105.209 17:24, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Three endings

Seriously I can only get one ending so how is there three endings if you can only watch one.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Ergna (talkcontribs)

There are two sets of three links. Each leads to one of the endings respectively. Also, please do not insert new topics in the middle of old ones.--Drat (Talk) 01:21, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Episode 100 "Alternate Endings" 4-6

edit

Seriously where is the proof that these exist, there is no link, no citing of any kind, for all we know these may be made up. 67.175.105.209 17:26, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Actually its 3 to 6 not 4 to 6 and they are not made up, they are all on the alternative endings section of the season 5 dvd. --81.155.56.215 22:36, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
