Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because since the previous deletion of the article the actor has had a significant role in Bridgerton. I'm not completely convinced it would pass WP:NACTOR but I think it should be discussed at Articles for Deletion rather than outright speedily deleted. Suonii180 (talk) 22:08, 7 March 2021 (UTC)

Why are my edits deleted?

Hello @GumbyMaxwell, can you please tell me why my edits on the Rege Jean Page were deleted? Rege was seen attending the GQ event with his girlfriend and the news has been covered by every media outlet. Why do you call this news "unconfirmed"? Hi Factchecking1, well IMDB isn't. If you like to know what type of sources are generally considered reliable for biographies of living persons, have a look at WP:BLPRS. Wimbledon appearance is not notable

First off, the Queen does not invite the people who are in the Royal Box. An appearance to a final match, let alone a quarter final one is not notable AT ALL. Seat mates of Page in said appearance are also not encyclopedic facts worth a line in his Wiki page. Such trivial additions, which the disruptive editor described as proof of Page’s elevated status is original research and is left to fan sites and fan forums, not Wikipedia. Hi thank you for bringing this up. - I disagree about the notability of attending Wimbledon in the Royal box. Whether or not the Queen herself invites peopple, it is given as an honor. I am willing to eliminate his seat mates. I only included them because they too are celebrities and were mention in the Article which was from the Independent UK, which is NOT a gossip outlet. I don't know how publicly attending Wimbledon is gossip. If they had an argument, or he was canoodling with someone else would be gossip. Countless fans and others come to Wikipedia for information on celebrities and many of the current articles address the status of relationships. I never even introduced the word “gossip” in my initial posting. No one is disputing that Page went with his girlfriend in Wimbledon. The argument is it is not notable enough to warrant inclusion in his Wiki page. Thousands of people have attended Wimbledon in the Royal Box through the years, and that fact is not included in their pages because it is simply NOT NOTABLE. How can we come to an agreement on this edit? This section is about his personal life, the point is not that he went to Wimbledon, but he attended, very publicly with his girlfriend who is the only topic under "personal life' When people come to a biography, they naturally want to know about the subjects romantic partner. Previously, the only listing was in 2011, at their first public outing. Although they have had several outings since then, this one is relevant because they chose to attend a very public event together. It may provide evidence to interested Wikipedia readers about the status of their relationship. I'm not sure why you would not want to include this information? Can you further explain? Update, I see that someone else added some edits which does establish the longevity of the relationship between Pageand His GF. I am willing to leve it at that, although my ultimate preference might be to do it this way.

Page is in a relationship with footballer / copywriter Emily Brown.[29] They were first linked in 2019,[29] and made their first public appearance together in September 2021.[30] and have continued to make public appearances together, including attending Wimbledon as a couple in July of 2022. Rege Jean Page

Actors wiki pages should reflect similar encyclopedia information pertaining to the show. Why list critically acclaimed show on one actors page and not on the actual leads page? Why reference actors on one star page and not on other actor page? The only actor of significance was Phoebe Dynevor and he is not listed on her page. So please remove their names from his page.

Rege has been nominated for an Emmy and a SAG award which are listed in award category with citations but not included in the background ‘Breakthrough’. He also won an MTV Breakout Star award that should be referenced in the detail, citations are already referenced.

Please help make Wikipedia useful and not appear biased. The below article which is included provides information on Bridgerton being a critically acclaimed show. Rege has been nominated for several major awards and the article below mentions critically acclaimed for his Emmy and SAG nominations. These are major awards. Let’s discuss. I am new to this site but if Maxen Embry is making all the updates then all I am asking is to be fair an unbiased.

Spam

I would like to raise the repeated inclusion of some negative reviews and deletion of positive reviews of Rege-Jean Page's performance in The Gray Man as shown below:

In 2022, Page appeared in Netflix's film The Gray Man which received mixed to average reviews. David Ehrlich of IndieWire described Page as "miserable in the role of a gallingly basic villain", with the BBC's Nicholas Barber calling his performance "one-dimensionally evil".

I do not believe any reviews are necessary for a wikipedia page and feel that individual's who dislike Rege are adding negative reviews in favour of positive reviews for personal reasons, essentially spamming his Wikipedia page. 86.4.187.31 (talk) 19:20, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
