Polish national anthem
editPerhaps it's worth noting that the Polish national anthem had been written in Reggio Emilia. Not of basic importance, it seems like a nice piece of trivia //Halibutt 17:11, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Solidarity pact with ANC during Apartheid
editThe article on Oliver Tambo mentions that Reggio nell'Emilia was the first city in the world to sign a pact of solidarity with the ANC in South Africa during apartheid, which is attested by this source: [1]. I would add it myself, but I'm not especially sure where it would fit in without overtaking any given section, so would appreciate a second opinion. The text at the article on Oliver Tambo is:
“ | In 1977 Tambo signed the first solidarity agreement between ANC and a Municipality<ref>{{cite news|title=10 Years of Freedom: South Africa and Italy Co-Celebrate the Victory over Nazi-Fascism and the Victory over Apartheid|url=http://www.dfa.gov.za/docs/2004/free0428.htm|accessdate=9 December 2013}}</ref>: the Italian town of Reggio nell'Emilia was the first city in the world to sign a pact of solidarity. This was the beginning of a long understanding and that meant for Italy to put an effort into concrete actions to support the right of southern african people's self-determination: one of these actions was the organization of solidarity ships. The first one, called "Amanda", departed from Genova in 1980.<ref>{{cite news|title=MOZAMBIQUE: THE ITALIAN "SHIP OF SOLIDARITY", ARRIVES IN PORT MUPUTO LOADED WITH AID FOR THE PEOPLE OF SOUTHERN AFRICA.|url=http://www.itnsource.com/en/shotlist/RTV/1980/06/25/BGY511220281/?s=Zimbabwe|accessdate=9 December 2013}}</ref>
It was Tambo himself to ask Reggio Emilia to coin Isitwalandwe Medals, the greatest ANC's honour. |

Reggio Emilia Early Childhood Education Philosophy
editReggio Emilia has made helped mold early childhood education to be more appropriate for young children. Although not everyone agrees with the emergent curriculum, most educators agree that play is a great way for young children to learn and to always find ways to teach each individual child. The Reggio Emilia philosophy can teach all educators how important it is to respect children and how important it is to raise children as a community to help create a strong future that we can all benefit from. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:282:302:5969:C9D9:5FA8:8241:4C78 (talk) 23:13, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
