The result of the move request was: moved. WP:NATURALDIS was brought up in the sole oppose !vote based on the "é" with an accent. However, it was pointed out that the usage of the accent is not consistent in English-language sources, and there appears to be a consensus that the accent is not a sufficient disambiguator. Régina → Regina, French Guiana – English-language sources do not consistently use this accent. Insufficient disambiguation. Note that this would also affect Category:Régina and related articles. 162 etc. (talk) 03:58, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
- Support. There are many other Regina, including Regina, Saskatchewan, which are much more notable. The acute accent is not sufficiently different (the Saskatchewan Regina also carries an acute accent in French Canadian spelling). Walrasiad (talk) 14:22, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. This is perfectly good WP:NATURALDIS (since the Canadian city is never spelled with a diacritic, at least in English), and when I Google this term it seems to come up largely with results for the Guiana city. — Amakuru (talk) 16:46, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
- It would be natural disambiguation if a majority of English-language sources used the "é", but I'm finding that this is not the case. 162 etc. (talk) 17:02, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
- Support. To judge from some quick searches it looks like the accent is not consistently applied in English RS. The accent by itself doesn't seem to be a sufficient or reliable disambiguator. ╠╣uw [talk] 20:28, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
- Support – Per Walrasiad. Less likely to cause misleading searches. Svartner (talk) 01:17, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Régina, French Guiana would also be fine. But the current title needs to be changed. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:47, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
