Proposed merge

It has been proposed that this article (RMOC) be merged with Ottawa-Carleton, an article about the former electoral district. My vote is to Oppose; despite similar titles, the subjects of each article are considerably different - the RMOC article is about a governmental body, while the electoral district is a matter of federal parliamentary history. I would propose instead that we use:

{{Two other uses|the electoral district|the former regional government|Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton|the capital of Canada|Ottawa}}

Which generates:

This article is about the electoral district. For the former regional government, see Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton. For the capital of Canada, see Ottawa.

• Oppose, the RMOC was a municipal level goverenet body, which had SOME powers in the Ottawa Carleton Area. RMOC has been turned into the New City of Ottawa, as part of a long process of assimilation of the neighbouring communities. cmacd 13:15, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
