editSome of the terminology used in this article requires updating to reflect changes introduced for the 2007-2013 programming period. (written by User:TobyJ on 08/05/08)--Le Petit Modificateur Laborieux (talk) 13:40, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

map needed
editI've added a list of regions that get funding. I think a map would be really useful as well though. There's a good one here (http://ec.europa.eu/regional_policy/atlas2007/index_en.htm) but I'm not aboutcopyright status.

Convergence Explanation
edit"With the addition of the newest member countries in 2004 and 2007, the EU average GDP has fallen. As a result, some regions in the EU's "old" member states, which used to be eligible for funding under the Convergence objective, are now above the 75% threshold. These regions now receive transitional, "phasing out" support until 2013. Regions that used to be covered under the convergence criteria but are now above the 75% threshold even within the EU-15 are receiving "phasing-in" support through the Regional competitiveness and employment objective.[1]"
Can someone reword this paragraph (second one in the Convergence section) to better clarify the difference between 'phasing out' and 'phasing in'? Not being very familiar with how the EU works, I find this very confusing, and imagine many other readers would as well.

Updating
editThis page is now out-of-date as the policy has now been updated for the 2014-2020 funding period. Can someone change this for the new policy, including a new map. [1]

I work for the European Commission's DG for Regional and Urban Policy. I would be happy to provide some information, maps etc. in order to help you update this and other related pages. --Tonylbxl (talk) 09:11, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
requires updating
editInfo on here is outdated to the extent it is no longer correct. Needs updated to reflect changes made in the 2021-2027 programming period
Current map (2021-2027) available
editThe map and list of regions need updating - they are now 8 years out of date.
A current map is available, e.g., from the EIB.
Any objection to updating the SVG with the new data? 2620:10D:C092:500:0:0:7:E094 (talk) 14:06, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
