Modification
editThis page is closer to statistics than to remote sensing, but I understand that remote sensing specialists may be disturbed by one of the headings, and some sentences that might seem derogatory.
I have not seen in the remote sensing pages I have seen anything on the properties of statistical techniques combining more accurate data on a sample with a proxy on the whole population (classified images). I believe this aspect deserves a specific entry.
I am modifying the text to make it more balanced.

- I agree that the remote sensing is lacking on statistics, but also on a description of applications. However, these seem to be reasons to improve that page, rather than to create a new one. You have some well-referenced prose (thank you!), and it would make a great addition to the remote sensing page. As an interim measure, I've merged it en bloc to an Applications section on that page, in part to ensure that your contribution is clearly identified, but I think that some it could then be moved up to the data processing section. This action is in part an alternative to deletion (as Moriwen had proposed). Klbrain (talk) 08:56, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- That sounds like a reasonable option. I will have a look at the remote sensing entry. Torozos5 (talk) 11:58, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
