Renewable share of energy production vs share of electricity production
editThe article mix the use of the renewables as a share of total energy production with the share of the electricity production only. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jkander59 (talk • contribs) 21:00, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
I totally agree, it makes it very confusing. Will have a go one of these days at unifying the data. Gyxmz (talk) 11:12, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
Renewable electricity
editIt would be added information about the proportion of renewable electricity in the electricity of the EU countries. --Nukeless (talk) 14:51, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Solar power
editIt has been suggested that this section be split into a new article entitled Solar power in the European Union.
NPOV: All Wikipedia articles and other encyclopedic content must be written from a neutral point of view (NPOV), representing fairly and, as much as possible, without bias all significant views.
Solar power is a significant source of renewable energy. Therefore, You can write an additional article about it, if You like. However, it is against the neutral point of view to delete the subject or the tables from the article. Watti Renew (talk) 19:17, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Removed the following table
editCountry | 2005 (%) | Target by 2020 (%) |
---|---|---|
Sweden | 40 | 49 |
Latvia | 35 | 38 |
Finland | 29 | 38 |
Austria | 23 | 34 |
Portugal | 21 | 31 |
Where should it go? Chendy (talk) 23:13, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Chronology of tables
editSome tables show figures by increasing year and some by decreasing year. Readability of the article would be improved if it was consistent across all tables. pgr94 (talk) 13:48, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
Austria in renewables table
editCan I ask for the source of the data used to make the "Share of renewable energies in gross electrical consumption in European Union countries in 2006" figure?
It gives >70% for Austria, which doesn't seem to match any data I can find on the topic. Austria does use a fair bit of direct solar thermal but that's got nothing to do with gross electrical consumption. Ordinary Person (talk) 04:11, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Renewable energy in the European Union → Renewable energy in Europe — Relisted. Vegaswikian (talk) 03:40, 1 October 2010 (UTC) The target article currently redirects to this page. If I am not mistaken, not all European countries are members of the EU, right? If so, I think it would be better if we include the bit of remaining info on the non-EU countries of Europe. - Comment - the article goes into quite a lot of detail on various EU treaties, which make it quite specifically about the EU. That said, redirecting the target to the current page doesn't make a lot of sense in that context; plus the map on the page includes EEA countries, so not sure what to do myself! — Amakuru (talk) 12:11, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

Work
editJobs provided by the renewable energy industry in the EU in 2005-2009 by EREC here: [1]. Is this info somewhere else in the Wiki? I recommend to include it in here as well. Do you agree? I can include the table if we do. Watti Renew (talk) 18:26, 14 January 2011 (UTC))

Terrible mismatch in Spain numbers
editBenjaoming (talk) 22:26, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
In this article[1] it is stated: In 2006, 20% of the total electricity demand was already produced with renewable energy sources, and in January 2009 the total electricity demand produced with renewable energy sources reached 34.8%
But in the main article about renewable energy in Spain [2], it is stated that Renewable energy in Spain represented 12.5% of total energy generation in 2009. Spain has set the target of generating 20% of its energy needs from renewable energy sources by 2020.

[1] refers to electricity demand, [2] refers to total energy generation, which includes non-electrical sources.
I agree. Data in figure "Share of renewable energies in gross electrical consumption in EU-27 countries in 2010 (in %).[1]" refers to final energy consumption, not electricity

Changed "gross electrical consumption" to "gross final energy consumption" in graphic title
Statistic section table orders
editIs there a general consensus or standard for tables which contain dates? A cursory glance at the Statistics section shows a mish mash of both earlier to latest and latest to earliest dates. My personal preference would be earliest to latest since it'll be far easier to add additional years onto the table. --Dan Atkinson (talk) 07:06, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
