History and Page Expansion
editThe history section is sorely lacking. Rensselaer has an interesting history from its pioneer start through its scandalous County Courthouse fire. A section for parks, monuments, and memorials would be helpful. Even a section for the buildings that are on the US National Register of Historical Places would be helpful. I will get to work on this but some help would be greatly appreciated. Rogueblack (talk) 17:18, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
Rail Transportation: A Little Too Much Information?
editIs it necessary, useful or appropriate to include the train schedules in the article on this small city? Xenophon777 (talk) 03:03, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
Nope, it's bizarre and irrelevant. I grew up in Rensselaer and don't remember anyone giving a crap about the train schedule who lived there, so why is it notable to the general public? I would even add that the whole rail section is one of the least notable things about Rensselaer. It's like saying how often the Greyhound stops in your town. More notable is the culture, events like Little Cousin Jasper, Rensselaer's reference in popular literature, schools, and local sports and icons. --70.68.121.31 (talk) 02:01, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
- Heck, I'm a train fan I think it is too much. A general transportation section, mentioning the main roads, the freight railroads, amtrak service, intercity bus service and any local transportation options (bus, cab) would make much more sense. Gtwfan52 (talk) 04:15, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
- The rail section has been removed. I can't even tell you if it was current or accurate. Rogueblack (talk) 17:20, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
- Good edit from a new editor. Thanks and welcome to Wikipedia! John from Idegon (talk) 18:09, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
