Edit dispute
editThere seems to have been a recent dispute between Tknifton, Viewmont Viking, Tehrafi, and Revolve NTNU as to what content belongs in the article. In these edits Tehrafi added an image gallery. Viewmont Viking then reverted that addition. An IP editor added an infobox and quite a bit of text, with no cited sources, some of which seems to have been rather promotional. Other text, including citatiosn, was removed. Tknifton reverted these changes. Revolve NTNU reinstated the infobox and at least some (perhaps all) of the edits previously made by the IP. Tehrafi then reinstated the gallery. reverted the edits by Revolve NTNU and Tehrafi. Tehrafi then reinstated them. Revolve NTNU repeated a smaller wording edit made previously which seems to have been caught in the larger changes. Tknifton then reverted the edits of Tehrafi. Tknifton hten re-introduced the infobox.
All of this constitutes edit warring. Please do not continue it, or it may be required that the article be locked and users blocked. Tehrafi and Revolve NTNU, please discuss here the changes you wish to make, the reasons why they are valid, and the sources whcih can be cited supporting those changes. If you wish to remove cited content, please explain why. In general accurately cited content should not be removed without good reasons. All congtent should be supported or supportable by reliable sources in accordance with our verifibility policy. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 18:50, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- This note is just for the record: I edited the article earlier to fix a disambiguated link in the infobox and have just undone another IP editor (which could possibly be the same editor as yesterday on a different IP) as they again replaced the article with uncited info, telling them to take it to the talk page. I hope that they listen to the advice rather than straight up re-adding the info. Tknifton (talk) 12:48, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
- The article has been semi-protected for a period of two weeks. I would encourage all the involved editors to discuss their revisions here and let calmer heads prevail. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 17:53, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
Updating
editThis page is frozen in 2012 and the team has continued; a look at the page in Norwegian bokmål shows annual competitions, a recent 2nd place result, and a current team of 81. Unfortunately it has few references. The gallery there is humongous, with detailed specifications of the cars, which we don't necessarily need, but I see they have fielded an electric car, and specifics like that would be good to have. Unfortunately there are few references there, and the Norwegian newspapers, especially Aftenposten, which I formerly used for lots of good refs, have either blocked my searching/viewing or tend to freeze my comp with ads searching for my non-existent Norwegian IP or Facebook account or something. So could those over there please find us some good references covering the last 7 years and maybe put them here stripped of tracker codes or non-subscriber codes or whatever, so the article can be expanded in a reference-based manner? English-Wikipedia is stricter about building on references (WP:V) than other-language Wikipedias, and since there has been promotional editing, the expansion needs to be immaculately sourced, but it does need to happen. Pinging Tehrafi, and as a courtesy, the blocked user Revolve NTNU. Yngvadottir (talk) 05:52, 6 November 2019 (UTC)
... I did what I could based on the sources I was able to see. Yngvadottir (talk) 14:16, 9 November 2019 (UTC)
