Contrived Accent
editRhod Gilbert's Radio 2 accent is a mixture of heavy Welsh, Black Country and 'Benglish', the latter more characteristic of second generation Bengali English UK citizens: This includes purposefully not pronouncing "t" and "th" as might otherwise be expected (for example within the locales of West Yorkshire in Northern England and areas of East London). For example, the following is observed on Gilbert's speech on Radio 2 (Pronounced "Raay-dio Tu" by Gilbert): 1. "Think" is pronounced "Fink" (and "Thinking" as "Finkin") 2. "Tattoo" is pronounced "Tah-ooh" 3. "Isn't it" as "Inn-it" (Yorkshire Benglish would pronounce this as "Int-it") Part of his diction within sentences bears resemblance to Jamaican "Toasting" style, which is not indigenous to Wales. It is not known if Gilbert is aware of his contrived accent but chats on quite happily oblivious to his radio voice! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.172.211.144 (talk) 16:14, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
Tour dates
editIs it necessary to have every date he performed for all of his tours? I understand that Wiki has unlimited space but I've never seen another page with such detail and it really disrupts the page as a whole. I'm leaving it to see if anyone has an opinion, but I think the tour sections should be heavily pruned. Tegrenath (talk) 00:19, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
It's been three months; I'm removing them. 72.200.123.231 (talk) 06:41, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
