Reported cases

edit

That figure of 36 reported cases quoted from the article by Kotetishvili et al refers to GLHS, not rhombencephalosynapsis. I'm not sure of the latest figures. Good to see a dedicated wiki page. Dazmcd (talk) 03:36, 5 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Dazmcd - my understanding was that rhomboencephalosynapsis was a feature of GLHS and so is included in the number of cases given. Do you know if this is a misunderstanding?

Thanks --Iztwoz (talk) 10:07, 5 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi, by definition (diagnostic criteria) those with GLHS also have rhombencephalosynapsis. Rhombencephalosynapsis itself is a separate condtiion and can occur without the extra features of GLHS though, so it not quite as rare, and likely under-recognised.
