This article should arguably be generalized. Rice paddles are pretty widely used tools, and I'm skeptical that their oldest version was in Japan. Rice cultivation happened in China first, then moved to Korea and Japan; I wouldn't be surprised if rice scoopers originated in China. 211.43.120.242 (talk) 12:18, 12 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've gone ahead and added what I could find from Korean academic sources. Unfortunately I can't read Chinese, and English Google doesn't come up with very many sources, so I'm unable to include anything about Chinese rice scoopers. MetropolitanIC (💬|📝) 04:30, 20 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Btw I misinterpreted your note on the other language wikis in the move discussion, I was requesting someone merge the wikidata items but just realized it's probably not that straightforward if overlapping articles exist 104.232.119.107 (talk) 14:47, 21 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Support per nom. Just to note, articles for "rice paddle" exist on Chinese and Korean Wikipedias as well, they may need merging with the "Shamoji" articles in other languages. See the Wikidata entry here: [1]MetropolitanIC (💬|📝) 04:08, 18 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
