editI find the phrasing '...is believed to have betrayed vital secrets...' harsh in the extreme and seems to be more of a POV and opinion rather than being written in an unbiased fashion. I'd like to know how those who wrote this, untrained in spying would have handled a Nazi interrogation. Considering Stevens' rank upon retirement, it seems that he wasn't considered that much of a betrayer/traitor to his country. A translation of the German page seems inadequate, and the sources seem lame. Where to send this for clean-up as more of a stub would be of help.
