Richard Lee 'The immigrant'.
editWhy is Richard Lee's Last will and testement not included on the Wikipedia page? Is this because he describes himself as 'Virginia and of Stratford Langley, Essex'? The Lees of Stratford, Essex were the family of Sir Benedict Lee of Hulcot's son Sir Robert. Lucia Pigot, Sir Robert's wife gave him a seventh son in 1584, named Richard. The family lived at their home in Stratford langley, Essex. This date would make Richard 'The immigrant' eighty when he died. His will was presided over by lawyers in London. They knew who he was. This information is freely viewed on the internet. A man from Stratford in Essex would understandably name his lands in Virgina after his English home. Also, his eldest brother Sir Henry Lee, baronet Quarrendon, inherited Ditchley in Oxfordshire from second cousin Sir Henry Lee KG in 1611.
Shropshire does not enter the equation. 84.70.164.127 (talk) 11:58, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry but I don't quite understand your concerns/question. Wikipedia can only use information that is published in reliable sources - and just the "information is freely viewed on the internet" doesn't mean it is valid or verifiable. For instance, Wikipedia cannot use information from websites such as Geni(dot)com or Ancestry(dot)com because those are user-edited websites without any editorial oversight - anybody can claim anything. The "death and legacy" section has extensive information about Lee's Will from several books. Do you mean why isn't the actual Will published in this article?...perhaps because a reliable source hasn't published the actual Will, but it seems to me that the actual Will doesn't need to be published in this article since so much information about it is already published here.
