Serious BLP issues

edit
This is a 2008 article that has one reference (tagged), that is a Google books reference showing he is or was, the Associate General Editor of The Heath Anthology Of American Literature. The article states he is also "Professor of English and African American literature and a Faculty Research Associate with the Ralph J. Bunche Center for African American Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles.", but this is not sourced, except from his "official" website, an external link (tagged), that is being used as a general reference.
This article should have never made it past a review, and certainly not left with only one reference over the years. This talk page has the notice that includes "This article must adhere to the biographies of living persons (BLP) policy,...". As it stands the article violates more than one policy or guideline.
The lack of notability of the subject is evidenced by the lack of reliable sources on the page since it is a BLP. I will, however, try to find something since 2008 that would show notability (tagged), because as it stands there is none. Otr500 (talk) 01:41, 10 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
I am pinging some editors that have had contributed to this 2008 article to see if someone may have any interest to resolve the source issues. The one reference listed is a Google search page and not an acceptable source for any content. The next step will be to determine if this article belongs on Wikipedia.
  • @Mercurywoodrose: - my edits were tangential, mostly links. i have no intention to edit further. i dont have any special knowledge as to his notability. thanks for pinging me, though.

User 69.234.19.251 only made one edit here, since 2010, so was not pinged and one editor is not around. Otr500 (talk) 10:28, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
I have added refs and expanded the article. Proscribe (talk) 19:06, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
