Article on Dees' Top 40
editCan anyone make detailed info about Rick Dees' Weekly Top 40 (not the DJ, the show) on Wikipedia, please?
- I already created that article for no problem. ChrisTaylorNYC (talk) 14:04, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
From WHBQ to WHBQ??
editAccording to the article, he was fired from WHBQ for talking about the song "Disco Duck," and then went on to be hired by another radio station in Memphis, whose call letters are also given as WHBQ. Which is correct? Shsilver (talk) 03:39, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Overall Tone is Promotional
editThis article reads as if it were written by publicity agents for Rick Dees. Needs to be less of an advertisement. Randi75 (talk) 12:44, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
- Absolutely needs a re-write, although waiting a week or so until he's off the air at KMVN (It's going Spanish on April 15, 2009, and Dees will be on the beach riding out his contract until September) might make it easier to rewrite all at once. - Dravecky (talk) 06:39, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
It sounds like it was written by publicity agents because a bunch of the text is taken directly from the Rick.com bio page. I'm not sure how to tag this, or what the usual process is, since I'm an amateur, but I thought I'd point this out after being struck by the phrasing and tone, especially in the "Further Interests" section. http://www.rick.com/deessleaze/dees-biography —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.193.61.5 (talk) 13:55, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

Even as a 12 year old in 1977 when Disco Duck came out I knew....anyone who calls himself something that obviously implies craziness, or "being funny", never actually is. "Rick Dees and his cast of idiots" - and the result? Disco Duck, just desperately desperately unfunny. Even to a kid. Its like people who describe themselves as "zany", they're typically about as interesting as an empty cardboard box. Vacuous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.2.23.128 (talk) 16:30, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
