One sentence states the fact that modern scholars reject the existence of a 'Rictius Varus'. However, no explanation is given as to why, and, except for the reference I just provided, no effort is made to track down the modern scholars and explain their views. This article is very unbalanced; its references point essentially to the same sources, repeated again and again, and all of them are hagiographical in nature. There is no effort to expose or explain the contradictions inherent in the stories, whether chronological or geographical. -- Vicedomino (talk) 19:43, 15 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
