I don't really care all that much about transliterated name spellings, but I do want to register my mild objection to this article being changed arbitrarily without discussion to a nonstandard spelling. Ideally, we would just go with simplified standard transliteration and call him al-Mahjub. Admittedly my "al-Mahgoub" was nonstandard as well, but it was more or less the way HE spelled it, without the stupid "el" definite article. jackbrown (talk) 15:04, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
