I've moved the picture above the bullet list because of an error with the bullets not counting properly. It should really be next the the third item from the end. But if you put it there at the moment the list doesnt count up properly. I've reported the bug so hopefully it will be fixed soon and ill try and come back and but the image back where it was. It makes sence where the author put the image it just the software doesnt work that way at the moment. --Shimirel 02:47, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
- DOH! I've messed up there when I found it someone had pressed enter at the end of the preceeding number. I've removed it and the numbers are correct and picture is where it was before. -- Shimirel (Talk) 19:35, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Hello. I am cleaning up dabs on "shell". I assume that this page should link to "Shell (projectile)", but wanted to confirm here with someone who knows the language, to make sure that it did not refer to a "seashell". Thanks --Brian G 04:35, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- If anything, it would have been indeed shell (projectile). However, is seems that the word "shell" is too general - I'm pretty sure "grenade" is the correct translation for the word "rimmon", where a "rimmon-yadh" emphasizes that it is one thrown by hand - a "hand grenade". I'll change the page accordingly. -- Meni Rosenfeld (talk) 04:43, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Changing to an article
editThis page can't make up its mind whether to be an article or a disambiguation page. Because it spent the majority of its time as an article, and because I agree with this edit, I'm removing the dab designation and tagging it for overhaul as an article. - Gorthian (talk) 19:46, 25 May 2014 (UTC)
- Has been stable as an article for five years. Not a single direct blue link to establish credibility as a dab page.Onel5969 TT me 10:44, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Gorthian and Onel5969: It spends most of its time as a dab, actually. New concept every two sentences. It just has a structure of an article, by neglect. There's no primary topic, just a collection of unrelated ones. --Triggerhippie4 (talk) 23:00, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
- Please familiarize yourself with WP:DAB. The first sentence of that guideline states, "Disambiguation is required whenever, for a given word or phrase on which a reader might search, there is more than one existing Wikipedia article to which that word or phrase might be expected to lead" (emphasis added). As stated above, there is not a single other blue link to cause this to become a dab. Until two of the other usages have enough content to create a page (only one would only need a hatnote), this does not qualify for a dab. If and when that happens, simply putting a dab template on this page is inadequate. First, this existing page should be moved to something like Rimmon (cult image), and then the redirect which is left behind could be turned into a dab, formatted properly. - The Semitic, and primarily: Hebrew Bible meaning is the base for it. On a DAB the whole info would be removed by pedantic fellow editors & their bots, only to be sourly missed by the user. Those links leading here say something: they're indicating a need. If this main meaning could be expanded and elaborated on, the rest, which are underdeveloped and can only remain this way, could be exiled onto a DAB, with a hattag here connecting to it. But pls, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Arminden (talk) 19:38, 5 March 2024 (UTC)

Hadad
editIsn't Rimmon just a synonym for the already existing page of Hadad who was called Rimmmon by the Arameans who inhabited Syria? Reldex (talk) 00:11, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- If so, wikilink them and all is fine :) Arminden (talk) 19:27, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
"Strong Poison" - ?!
edit- "Rimmon is mentioned in Dorothy Sayers' "Strong Poison" when one of the main characters, Ms Climpson, revises unwelcome duties of her life."
- Try to make sense: what is it? Person, place, object, chore, other abstract concept?
- Source? At least a wikilink or two?
- Notability?
Moved over until it makes sense. Arminden (talk) 19:31, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
