I think there is a mistake in the wording. The text in this article says:
"The period of Temüjin's life from 1177 to 1191 is largely unknown except that Temüjin often fought the Taichiud, Salji'ut, Khadagin, and Tatars with mixed results."
The only source this sentence relies on is, I can presume, the only source used in the paragraphs under the same title - Carl Fredrik Sverdrup's book. Sverdrup's book says: "The early phase of Temujin's military life - 1177 - 1191, is largely lost in history."
Unlike the text in this article, Sverdrup's book states that the only thing unknown in 1177-1191 is Temujin's *military* life. Not his general life, but his military life.
I noticed this because I know there are events in Temujin's life between 1177-1191 that we know about. For example, his break-up from Jamukha in 1181, or his election as a Khan in 1189. Thus, I think the current text in this article is misleading and should be something like - "Temujin's military life from 1177 to 1191 is largely unknown... etc". אוהד בר-און (talk) 16:38, 23 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
