I have quoted the definition of Rishathra from the Glossary in an edition of The Ringworld Throne that I have, which I've cited. The sense is somewhat different from the previous statement.
There are clear references in the text of "The Ringworld Throne" that states that Rishathra is not "mating", a forbidden form of sexual contact between species.
