Info About Galchen's Next Novel Deleted From Page
editI recently added the following information:
Galchen has said that her next novel with tentatively be titled The Nature Theater of Oklahoma and will feature "visions and ghosts."[1]
The information about Galchen's next novel is from a substantiated interview conducted with the author. Information about the name and subject of the author's next novel should be included on the page.
It should be noted the site, Loaded Questions, which has been linked to is a site in which I participate and conduct interviews. It should also be noted that Loaded Questions does not sell any products and and stands to make no monetary gain by ensuring that Wikipedia has the most current information about Rivka Galchen, her career and her novels. The information which has been added to this page is not of a controversial nature and it is my belief that, despite the fact that I conducted the interview, it is information which must be included on the Rivka Galchen page. - KellyHewitt80 (talk) 19:31, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
Birth year
editThe New York Observer profile that I cite in my overhaul of the page mentions that was 32 at the time of the profile (May 2008). From that I inferred a birth year of 1976, but this might be wrong. Can someone find a reference with an actual birthdate? Bearseeingstars (talk) 00:23, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Merger
editMerged Rivka Galchen bibliography with Rivka Galchen per October 2014 tag. BartlebytheScrivener (talk) 15:52, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
Bibliography
editHave commenced tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it; feel free to continue. Sunwin1960 (talk) 06:54, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

Medical degree
editIn the education section, Ms. Galchen's medical degree is mentioned, "with a focus on psychiatry." An editor didn't like this, and added clarification needed tags, then moved it to a comment WITH SOME DISPARAGING TEXT SHOUTED IN. It is misguided. The material conforms exactly to the source. In addition, as with many degree programs (common outside of medicine), students can take elective courses, sometimes within a framework of specialization. It is true, a focus on psychiatry will not allow one to practice as a psychiatrist without further clinical work. Nether can an MD practice as a doctor without an internship and passing licensing exams. The article never mentioned anything about practicing, it just describes education. The comment was without basis. Therefore, I have restored that piece to its original form. Dovid (talk) 17:11, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
