Disambiguation

edit

I was referred here by a link to "Bob Sherman" in the article on "The Sandbaggers" TV show. I guess some disambiguation is needed, but as a newbie I don't know how... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.22.236.230 (talk) 21:56, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Painting copyrights

edit

The paintings in this article seem to have the wrong Wikipedia:Fair use copyright tag. They are currently taged Template:Eventposter, the correct tag seems to be Template:Art The amount of art in this article seems to be a problem - Wikipedia:Fair use states: The amount of copyrighted work used should be as little as possible. Low-resolution images should be used instead of high-resolution images (especially images that are so high-resolution that they could be used for piracy). This includes the original in the Image: namespace. Do not use multiple images or media clips if one will serve the purpose adequately. Fountains of Bryn Mawr 19:47, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Family

The names and parentage of Sherman's grandchildren aren't really pertinent to anything, and might be a violation of the living persons rules. PurpleChez 16:51, 1 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Carousel in the Country 600.JPG

edit

Image:Carousel in the Country 600.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 18:36, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Known painter?

edit

I have added "Dubious" tag as to the intro description that Robert B. Sherman is a "known painter". Is there a source for this? It seems to be a BIO aspect that needs some sort of 2nd party reference. People have all kinds of hobbies that they are not known for. 64.0.112.216 (talk) 22:12, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

He is known for his work as a painter. He has had exhibits across the globe and has been covered in news and print. He has sold his work professionally. I have taken off the "dubious" tag for this reason.86.129.143.114 (talk) 22:56, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

"It's a Small World" claim

edit

Statement below moved to talk since it makes a pretty substantial claim without reference:

Since then, "Small World" has become the most translated and performed song on earth. 75.197.196.150 (talk) 03:59, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

This is resolved. The reference given is from a Time magazine survey. Hope this helped. B'H. 172.250.246.150 (talk) 22:15, 17 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

The image [[:{{{1}}}]] is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Death date contradiction

The date of death specified in the "Death" section (March 6th) differs from the date at the top of the article and on the right below the picture (March 5th). WaMu (talk) 17:15, 7 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
