This is tiny for all that Cialdini has been involved in! I know he's added some to the discussion of cognitive dissonance, and social identity theory. He created the concept of "BIRGing"-- "basking in reflected glory". I'd add this, but I don't have the citations just now. DivineAna 17:46, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, but most of this article reads like it was written by his publicist and is not in an encyclopediac style. Ashmoo (talk) 08:45, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
He is a verry famous football player. - e.g. David Beckam is a verry famous football player this is how Robert Cialidini is now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.24.93.118 (talk) 17:11, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Hello, You have got to be kidding me. I just saw this discussion. There is nothing that is not encyclopedic about this article. In fact, can you define what it is that makes it not "encyclopediac"? I think I have the right to know something about the author of the books I was reading for quiet some time now. He has organized knowledge about influence and persuasion in a very nice and organized way and I know he is widely read in Poland. I have a book of his from 10 years ago, precisely in Polish. I think this implies that he is known around the globe and his work is translated internationally. I find it irrelevant whether it is due to his popularization of the knowledge of the processes behind influence and persuasion or whether it is due to his contribution to the field of psychology. I think his influence in popularizing the field of psychology alone is worth keeping him here. Just a side note, my PhD professor, when asked about him a few years ago said he doesn't like the guy for his political agenda, but respects his work. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ublaszak (talk • contribs) 22:48, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
