Family?
editPerhaps I am being misled my the similar names among the Anglo-Irish gentry, but is there any connection with the Johnston/Johnstone family of the (now ruined) Magheramena Castle (or Magheramenagh Castle) near Belleek, County Fermanagh? The last son James Cecil Johnston (1880-1915) seems to have been killed in action in 1915 with the 6th Royal Irish Fusileers at Gallipoli, leaving two daughers, including the published author Myrtle Johnston. His father was Robert Edgeworth Johnston (born 1842, death date unclear).
Or Robert Johnston (VC) (1872-1950)? He was born at Laputa, which appears to be just across the border from Belleek, near Ballyshannon, County Donegal, and was also a son of a Robert Johnston QC, and seems to have had a brother Ralph William Johnston MD (1866-1915), but no indication of any other brothers.
The NPG lists a Major General Ralph Edgeworth-Johnstone (1893-1990), son of Robert Johnston QC, who may be the brother of Walter Edgeworth-Johnstone. Do we know when they changed their name to add the "Edgeworth-" and the "e" on Johnstone? 213.205.240.172 (talk) 13:47, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
