editInteresting that the debacle of the Levering oath, Assembly Bill 61, is not mentioned as it occured during Sproul's presidency. 68.185.219.57 01:02, 21 November 2005 (UTC) BF
Incomplete biography
editThis should be filled out with Sproul's contribution to making Berkeley one of the most narrow and repressive universities in the country. While othe schools were thriving in American freedom of the free exchange of ideas, Sproul and his predecessors made the school subservient to their wealthy donors, who treated students as children needing protection from "undue influences."
Time to bring some honesty to this treatment. Bdubay (talk) 17:04, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
more places named after
editShould we add Sproul Hall, UCLA's 2nd high rise dormitory? Saltysailor (talk) 03:42, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
I have never seen anything named for RG Sproul at UCSB or UCSC — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.151.202.98 (talk) 17:58, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
References
editThe referencing style or presentation needs to be "adjusted" An overabundance of the same references don't need to be repeated. Otr500 (talk) 14:28, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
Photographs
editI added a lead photo, and more are on Commons at Commons:Category:Robert Gordon Sproul. To my eye, the photos ostensibly of Sproul from the 1940s at the Berkeley Radiation Laboratory don't look terribly close to later photos, and may in fact be misidentified, even by Department of Energy/National Archive staff. I'll leave it to others more familiar with Sproul's life to make the call. --Animalparty! (talk) 03:00, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
Hi there. I'm not really familiar with Wikipedia but I'm pretty certain that's actually a photo of Vannevar Bush. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.6.53.82 (talk) 20:22, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
- I concur with 24.6.53.82. That photo is clearly Bush, not Sproul. --Coolcaesar (talk) 16:30, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
