His favourite CHILD?

Wording and bibliography

edit

"Of humble origins", "His bent to" - not sure if these are the right tone (and could they have been copied from another site ?

With the bibliography, I am not sure about all that categorisation. Pompeii is also a thriller, and surely Enigma is historical fiction ? May be best just to split fiction and non-fiction. -- Beardo 22:23, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Polansky

edit

I've removed what I think is unduly prurient dwelling on Polanski's rape conviction. This article is about a novelist, not the crimes of his associates. --TS 00:55, 23 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Third Cicero novel

edit

After I have found nothing doing a google check I have found nothing to suggest the third Cicero novel s coming out this year. Anyone care to properly verify that? Katana Geldar (talk) 23:33, 11 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Harris' or Harris's

edit

The article currently uses both of the above possessive forms. Both are legitimate according to WP:MOS, but WP articles are required to use one or the other consistently. I strongly prefer the second alternative since it suggests the spoken second sibilant, unlike the first. I am going to change all the possessives from Harris' to Harris's. If anyone objects to this, please discuss. Whatever the preference, the article needs to be consistent.

The Second Sleep (2019) - past or future

edit

Maybe he is referring to two different next novels. First is the one he is currently writing and the second being the one written and about to be published. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 10:57, 6 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Bibliography

edit

I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates and tables for organising short stories, poems and/or book reviews. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. ISBNs and other persistent identifiers, where available, are commented out, but still available for reference. This is a work in progress; feel free to continue. Plot summaries' "citation needed" tags removed

edit

I have removed the tags where they are attached specifically and only to a plot summary of the novels in question. I believe this is in accordance with Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Writing about fiction#Sourcing and quotations, "The plot summary for a work, on a page about that work, does not need to be sourced with in-line citations, as it is generally assumed that the work itself is the primary source for the plot summary."

Where the tags relate to other statements about the works (their publication dates, impact, etc.) I have left them. I do however question the need for those that appear to refer only to a film or similar media version being made where there are wikilinks to those versions' articles in the tagged sentence. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.199.215.44 (talk) 14:14, 8 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
