edit- "Fulton, Robert, 1826-1895, Jesuit priest". needs an ndash.
- Images: File:Robert J. Fulton standing.jpg: "This image is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 United States License." it is thus non-compatable with the Commons, which requires us to allow commercial use. Now, you could argue commons:Template:PD-US-unpublished, but you'd have to have evidence it was not published prior to January 1, 2003. Do you know any publications that use the image?
- Actually I found here on p. 103. I would update the source for PD purposes (leave the original source but add the publication source for the image I found) & change the license to commons:Template:PD-US-expired.
- Thank you for finding that. I have corrected the license tag on the Commons. Ergo Sum 03:33, 27 November 2022 (UTC)

- File:Rev. Robert J. Fulton in 1876.png: check copyright status of book using Stanford copyright renewal tool and confirm book wasn't renewed. Original book has copyright notice on one of the frontpages.
- I do not see it listed as having been renewed. Ergo Sum 04:08, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- professor or rhetoric at Georgetown. I don't think the link goes where you want it to, the "rhetoric" link. Do you mean "of rhetoric", or is "rhetoric" a different word for "professor"?
- Fixed the typo. The link does go to the correct page. Ergo Sum 03:34, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- In October 1870, Fulton created a cadet corps, with the help of Major General John G. Foster of the United States Army, which became called the Fost Cadets I checked the source, this was the "Foster Cadets," not the "Fost Cadets." Additionally, this was on pages 109 and 110, not just 109, so the ref needs cleaning up.
- Fixed the typo and page citation. Ergo Sum 03:36, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- Though its creation was initially well received, when Fulton ordered that all students, many of whom were from poor families, be required to purchase the military uniform, nearly half of the 142 students enrolled, including all the upperclassmen, left the school. too many clauses in sentence.
- Rephrased so that the sentence reads more smoothly. Ergo Sum 03:39, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- The academic year of 1876 and 1877 was the first in which Boston College offered the final course in philosophy. not sure what this means, "final course in philosophy," what does this pertain to?
- It was common for Jesuit schools of this era to break down education into this structure because they adhered to the Ratio Studiorum. I'm not sure I can find a good source that concisely explains this and would not require an entire article of its own to discuss. My instinct is that the present wording is as specific as it needs to be. Ergo Sum 03:41, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- From 1874 to 1875, the college building was physically moved 60 feet and was significantly expanded. maybe a few words on why it was moved.
- Unfortunately, no reference I know explains why. It must have had something to do with accommodating the expansion, as the next sentence explains. Ergo Sum 03:42, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- (equivalent to approximately $177,000 in 2020[32]), ref outside parenthesis, outside comma.
- I like to put it inside to be clear to the reader that it does not support the text that precedes the parentheses. But it's a minor point, so I've moved it. Ergo Sum 03:43, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- Fulton became the president of president of Gonzaga College typo
- (equivalent to approximately $4.5 million in 2020[32]) same.
- (equivalent to approximately $3.3 million in 2020[32]) same.
- Spotchecks: Ref 38: and operating on a yearly deficit.[36] During the course of his year in office, Fulton reduced the debt to approximately $100,000 source doesn't say that. source says the debt was reduced by about $100,000, not to $100,000. Although you could make that inference, I'd prefer to stick to the original text.
- I think that's right. Corrected. Ergo Sum 03:47, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- Ref 36: checks out.
- something I found: was the first president of the Senior Debating Society, which renamed itself the Fulton Debating Society of Boston College on November 7, 1890.[15][13] switch refs.
- Ref 15: checks out.
- Ref 48: On October 16, 1890, he left for Hot Springs, Arkansas, to take advantage of the therapeutic geothermal springs the phrase "to take advantage of the therapeutic geothermal springs" needs a reference, it's not in Dunigan 1947, p. 153.
- I think that is the necessary implication, but I've tightened up the language to strictly adhere to the source. Ergo Sum 03:52, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- Ref 53: Construction on Fulton Hall, named for Robert Fulton, began in 1947, at Boston College's Chestnut Hill campus. 1.) source doesn't say construction began in 1947, only that it was authorized for construction in 1947. 2.) source doesn't say "Chestnut Hill" campus, only Classes were first held on Newbury Street in downtown Boston and then moved to O'Connell House (formerly the Liggett Estate) on the Chestnut Hill Campus. nothing about Fulton Hall being on the Chestnut Hill Campus. Therapyisgood (talk) 01:40, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- This is one of the instances where it is hard to find a source that states something that many in BC circles would take as obvious. I found a source that says the building opened in 1948, and one that puts it on the Chestnut Hill campus. Ergo Sum 04:05, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
On hold. Will do more spotchecks after these are addressed. Therapyisgood (talk) 01:40, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- Therapyisgood Thank you for your patience and your review. Ergo Sum 04:09, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- Passing. Therapyisgood (talk) 00:17, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
