All I can find of his education is in Who Was Who which state he was educated at "Perth Schools". There were two major schools he could have attended existing in his youth, Perth Academy and Perth Grammar School - can someone, perhaps local to Perth, pinpoint which one?Cloptonson (talk) 11:57, 7 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
I have found the answer, unexpectedly today, in his sketch in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, the schools were two minor academies and Perth Academy itself (founded 1696). I have made the changes accordingly.Cloptonson (talk) 18:52, 15 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
