Wisdom of Wording?
editThis quote does not contribute anything, and is the personal opinion of the person who wrote it. Nothing else induces passion in young scientists more than feeling that their work is important.
I am not sure if this really belongs either. Could someone with more experience make a decision regarding it? The quote that probably everybody working in Langer Lab has heard.
Principal Investigators (PIs) are legallyand scientifically responsible to ensure the RCR (responsible conduct of research) and are expected to supervise their researchers (particularly those in earlier creer stages). This 'hands on' engagement likely becomes a motivational for younger researchers, who may not have received their first R01 grant. http://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/funding_program.htm
Could this idea (if it can be documented) be succinctly stated in simply, embedding both ideas)?
--reportedly (citation needed) closely engages and motivates his researchers, whose early career stage requires direct supervision and guidance--
I've heard Langer on the radio and met him in Harvard's Longwood Medical Area (he's in an MIT-Harvard combined program in the LMA); IMO he IS truly very engaging and immediately and empathically lights up what others are doing, if they're "on the same page" MaynardClark (talk)

Tone possibly due to COI edits
editThe article in its current form seems to be designed as an advertisement for how wonderful and inspirational Langer is. It is not broken into the standard sections for a biography; it scrambles for evidence to prove how influential he is; and it sources far too heavily from sites Langer controls. I suspect it of being edited by people at the LangerLab. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:30, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
- Agreed, it does seem to have a POV slant. I added a tag to hopefully attract more diverse contributers. Krushia (talk) 15:04, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

PixarBio
editNo mention of Langer's disastrous relationship with Frank Reynolds and PixarBio?: https://www.genengnews.com/topics/drug-discovery/pixarbio-ceo-two-associates-face-federal-fraud-charges/
Frank Reynolds died in prison on January 9th, 2022, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website. Langer lauds Reynolds to the skies in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2uzlZrPYKI — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:6AE5:2510:0:0:0:46 (talk) 22:02, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
