Story of Bob
editMy mom and dad and sister (George & Sandi Gray & Dee) visited Bob and Mary (a school teacher) in 1964, and they stayed a week with him. Bob taught my dad to sculpt and they formed a great friendship. He had an eagle he was helping to rehabilitate and a bobcat. He was an amazingly talented sculptor who was dedicated to the Blackfeet people. We own a piece of a larger bronze sculpture of a Blackfeet warrior hunting Buffalo from horseback. My dad also sculpted Bob’s horse Gunnysack and they created a plaster cast which we still have at home. I visited Bob many years later while on a trip. He told me stories of life on the reservation and how things had changed. Elders were no longer respected and an “outsider” was respected even less. I cherished that trip and came home with a small sculpture of an eagle to remember him by. Thank you Bob. 2601:CB:8200:4DF0:80EA:8CB0:1B7D:49C6 (talk) 03:37, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
