Speedy Deletion

edit

I don't think this should be deleted; Robert Townsend is a notable for writing the book "Up The Organisation" in 1970, as well as being responsible for turning around the fortunes of Avis Rent-A-Car to compete with Hertz. Why is this proposed for deleteion? Because you've never read this book or heard of its author? It's quite a famous book in the business world... M0thr4 (talk) 12:06, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Additionally, his death was reported in the Washington Post (see references in main article) - surely a sign of recognition? M0thr4 (talk) 12:30, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Author or exec?

edit

Townsend's book was a great success in its time. I wonder whether the title of the article should identify him as a business executive, since that success turned him into an author. --- OtherDave (talk) 18:21, 31 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
