Permission to use?
editIt appears that the bulk of this article was taken from Milesago.com. [1] The contribtor, Dunks58, has previously asserted that he is the owner of that site and grants Wikipedia permission to use his work. [2] Indeed, for that article, it does appear that permission was verified by the Wikimedia Communications committee. However, I'm not sure if the permission applies merely to that individual article or to all articles from Milesago.com. I will contact the appropriate parties to try to ascertain this. --GentlemanGhost 01:43, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
I hereby give unreserved permission to anyone to use all material from Milesago on Wikipedia. Ok? Dunks (talk) 01:32, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
Milesago articles copyright
editI changed the copyright details on the Robert Whitaker and Stewie Speer articles on Milesago because I was the compiler and principal author of those articles, and I wanted to reproduce them on Wikipedia because there were no other equivalents elsewhere on the web. Most of the articles on Milesago are my work, and I';d like to see those eventually reproduced on Wikipedia too, but I cannot release all the articles without negotiation because a number of them were written or co-written by others.
In principle, I'm happy to change the copyright for stuff on Milesago that I have written, as long as it's used appropriately (i.e. it's not used in something created for sale, unless I get paid for it) and as long as I -- or whoever else wrote it -- is properly credited. However, I have been made MUCH more wary of doing, because of a recent bad experience in which a major portion of one of my Milesago music articles was plagiarised word-for-word and published under someone else's name (for money) in a recent book on Australian music history. - That's not the way the copyleft licences used by Wikipedia work. Derivative works, or simple copies, may be made and are made for profit. -- Hoary (talk) 05:08, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
So tell me how to fix it. I totally happy for every original word on Milesago to be copied to Wikipedia. If Wikipedia had existed when we began Milesago in the early 1990s, it would all be on Wikipeda. I dont who uses it here, or how. I just want this sorted please. Just tell me how. Thanks.Dunks (talk) 01:42, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
Butcher cover
editI question the statement that the butcher cover photo is the most well known photograph of the Beatles. There are so many iconic images of the band that I doubt any single image could ever be called the best known. I would list any of the artwork from Sgt Pepper (front, back or inside), Abbey Road, Meet the Beatles, Rubber Soul, or several other albums as being more familiar, along with a number of other, non-album photos. Ok sure, quibble away. One of the best known *yawn* Dunks (talk) 01:31, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
Put the damn text back and Ill fix it, jesus ...Dunks (talk) 01:33, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

Grrrrrrrr. I am the author of the original Milesago article and I give unreserved permission to use any and all original material on that site for any purpose on Wikipedia. Please restore the text so I can continue editing. Thanks Dunks (talk) 01:35, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
Expansion of article
editI have just expanded this stub article to include most of the text from the 2002 Milesago article that I wrote about Whitaker. I confirm that I, Duncan Kimball, am the author of that original article on Milesago.com, and I hereby give unreserved permission to use any material from that article here on Wikipedia.
I am still in the process of editing and will add inline citations as soon as possible, so please don't have a conniption fit about the sourcing of this text from Milesago or the current lack of citations. I will attend to all these tasks as soon as I am able, and will happily whatever is necessary to address these issues asap, many thanks. Dunks (talk) 01:28, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

Permissions
editCould someone please advise how I can give blanket permission for all Milesago material to be used on Wikipedia? I'm tired of the constant hassle about this matter. Milesago is my site, my copyright, and I am happy to give everyone on the planet permission to use anything from it. Just tell me how. Life is too short to be bothered with this nonsense. Thank you.
