Misleading Coverage

edit

Objective discussion should be added as this is likely not a premeditated attack, but a senseless gun violence incident. There is no mention in the article of the fact that the gathering had coalesced from multiple block parties, and there were multiple armed people at the party.

According to Wikipedia,

The United States’ Congressional Research Service acknowledges that there is not a broadly accepted definition and defines a "public mass shooting" as an event where someone selects four or more people and shoots them with firearms in an indiscriminate manner, echoing the FBI's definition of the term "mass murder", but adding the indiscriminate factor.

At this point in time with the available facts, it's difficult to discern the difference between escalation of a drunken argument, and the sort of behavior that is imagined when one reads the term "mass shooting." The claim of "largest mass shooting in Rochester's history" may even be marginalizing events such as Sandy Hook and Parkland. I don't think this article is heading in the proper direction.2604:6000:6605:6900:49DB:7631:57BC:CE80 (talk) 21:03, 20 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Three to four shooters shot more than 40 bullets in a pretty indiscriminate manner (most of the victims were not part of the argument leading to this). Source predominately use mass shooting here. Pikavoom (talk) 07:32, 21 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

I see no WP:LASTING coverage here for this particular event nor do I see any international coverage. Looking at List of mass shootings in the United States in 2020 this event appears to have the same scope as the mass shooting in Kansas City, Missouri on January 19, 2020. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 00:55, 21 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
