I added my own views that I disagreed with in parentheses seeing as I don't have the time currently to write a full NPOV article but will do so very soon. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Obelisk29 (talkcontribs) 19:47, 23 August 2005.

Edits needed

This article contains a lot of "Christian" terminology that would be foreign to non-Christians. Suggest this be rewritten more objectively, including both sides of the controversies surrouding this evangelist. This appears to be a very biased article stripped almost entirely from their web site. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Steven Buehler (talkcontribs) 12:06, 9 September 2005.

Very little of the content was informative. I stripped it down, and took out the POV material. -- Alan McBeth 02:59, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

Yes but you stripped it down to nothing. Not all of it was uninformative. Obelisk29 01:52, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

According to Rev Robert S Liichow , (Dutch Reformed), in his May 2006 newsletter, Truth Matters, (Volume 11, Issue 5), an outreach of Discernment Ministries International, in his article entitled The 'New Wine' Hangover, page 8; Rodney Howard-Browne received a doctorate from the School of Bible Theology in San Jacinto, CA -- an alleged diploma mill. I, the poster, have no connection with Rev Liichow's ministry, and simply wanted to share this information. Anyone reading -- please correct this information if it is inaccurate. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Brother Lee Love (talkcontribs) 22:52, 2 June 2006.

I corrected it —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Obelisk29 (talkcontribs) 03:28, 20 August 2006.

I've flagged the article as in need of cleanup. It is not written in a formal tone ("Rodney says"...) and it needs headings and references. The second half of the article also reads like it could be a potential copyvio -- it smells of a cut-and-paste job from somewhere else, though I haven't been able to find where. — jammycakes 10:01, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Not just the tone, which is awfully subjective, but this needs totally wikifying too. Frankly it needs a total re-write due to the horrendous amount of POV and "narrative" that is totally un-encyclopedic. Pedro1999a |  Talk  16:33, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Addition of Photo of Daughter

  • Hey, I don't want to be mercenary here, but this is an encyclopedia. Upsetting though her death is, she was non-notable and I'm sorry but I don't see how a photo of her, or the sentimental description alongside, assists in building an encyclopedia. Wikipedia is not the place to immortalise lost love ones. Pedro1999a |  Talk  16:37, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

About the River at Tampa Bay Church

Attached is a section from the article which does not belong there in its current form. It appears to be a verbatim listing of a pamphlet about the church. If this is going to remain in the article it needs to be rewritten in your own words or have sections quoted. Currently it appears to be plagerism...

Above section removed because it was copied directly from the RMI website.

Revival Television Network

This section appears to be written material without sourcing. It might be plagerism"

==Revival Television Network==

The Revival Television Network is the television & internet broadcast station of Revival Ministries International. Currently, RTN is primarily an internet based broadcast. We simulcast stream a high bandwidth video & audio broadcast plus a low bandwidth audio-only broadcast at all times. All the services at the River at Tampa Bay Church are broadcast live on RTN. This includes all special meetings of RMI, including our featured campmeetings. Our live broadcasts are indicated by the "LIVE" logo in the upper right hand corner of the screen. We also have an ever increasing, wide variety of taped programming constantly being updated and broadcast on RTN. Some of this content includes Chronicles of Revival, Good News Crusades, Special Presentations, Music Videos, etc. Also, every Sunday AM service at the River is tape delayed & played on RTN so those around the globe who call the River their home church can join us at a convenient time. At this time our taped programing is not scheduled, but plans are in the works to provide a programing guide to viewers. In addition to the primary outlet of the streaming channels, RTN also offers a large selection of "Video on Demand" to cover specific needs, topics, and multiple broadcast formats.Revival Television Network

POV-check

It is hard to know which way to determine NPOV on this article as it appears to be previously published material without citation. Any help would be appreciated.

Lmcelhiney 20:18, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

This whole article is in need of serious revision but due to the topics, and self bio, I believe we need to sort it here on the talk page before revision. Pedro1999a |  Talk  21:29, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion

I don't think so. He's a well known character within the Charismatic movement, in particular associated with the Toronto Blessing. The copyvio concerns seem to have been cleared up. — jammycakes (t) 14:39, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
He may be well known, but the article as it is now does not site any sources at all - instead, it has lots of external links, but they all lead to one place: http://www.revival.com/, which is the Howard-Browne organization's own website. An encyclopedic article should have at least some independent sources. --Ronja 15:35, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
I vote keep! 97.97.252.189 (talk) 02:47, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Revival.com Section

I tried to delete the Revival.com section, but it was reverted by user 216.23.112.181, who said "Please define superfluous". So, I think it should be deleted because: (a) the site is already linked in the External links section, where it should be; (b) the site itself is non-notable, and the fact that he has a travel blog or that it is available in 9 languages is unencyclopedic; (c) it is badly written and formatted. However, I don't want to get into an edit war with this user, who has previously made unencyclopedic edits and been involved in edit wars on this page (see history for 23 August 2005). Any established user want to deal with this? 70.55.145.229 23:20, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

It seems that 216.23.112.181 is RMI, so I think what they say should go. I vote to keep. 97.97.252.189 (talk) 02:44, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Actually, you have it backwards -- that's the opposite of the way Wikipedia works. The organization itself does not get to decide what is included in an encyclopedia article about them. But I do not care enough about this obscure page to continue the discussion. 70.55.145.229 (talk) 19:27, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Business

[The artice] is missing howard brownes involvement with many different multi level marketing companies. Mona vie being one. If anyone can fin d citable sources please post. Also the portrayal of Good news ny is un objective. User:Tarryjack 23:19, November 7, 2007 (UTC) (comment copied from Talk:Rodney_Howard-Browne/Comments by User:AHRtbA==)

Mistake

There is one huge mistake in this aritcle. The good news New York Crusade did not attract over 2 million people and last for 3 months. You have to look at the source again. The dream that Dr. Howard Browne had was of Billy Graham and his crusade in the 50's. That was the crusade that lasted for over 3 months and attracted about 2 million people, not Howard-Browne's.
