Web site squatting
editIt seems that rogatevillage.co.uk has suffered a lapse-squatting event. I have removed the link and reached out to a member of the community who is involved in the village's online presence to ask which site to link to in the mean time.
A WayBack Machine entry in May 2013 suggests the site was left fallow. WHOIS records state it was registered on 22nd May 2015 so I assume the domain was not renewed.

Merge proposal
editGuidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements state that ideally the civil parish should be the catch-all article, avoiding single line articles on every village and landmark within the parish.
Therefore, I suggest that villages within the parish with a one or two sentence article, ie Rake, West Sussex to be merged and redirected to this parish article. ++ MortimerCat (talk) 22:55, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- The link to Rake within this article redirects back on itself, here. So someone who has better editing skills than I, needs to fix it. SovalValtos (talk) 19:18, 24 April 2014 (UTC)
Rogate and Rake
editRake is certainly worthy of its own article, but needs some research. I might have a go at it when I have time, as I am very familiar with the area. Rogate and Rake are completely separate villages some distance apart, the former on the A272 and the latter on the old A3. Hillbrow (on the A3) is a southern development from Rake, and all three settlements go back quite a way as they lie on historic roads. Hillbrow is actually more geographically associated with Liss, though Liss is in Hampshire and a different parish. The Rogate article needs expanding, as there is plenty more to say about it. Maybe start by breaking into sections? Tony Holkham (talk) 22:28, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
- Before making any decision to split Rake and Rogate into separate pages I think some development of the history of the two combined is needed, as I am guessing that they were at one time more closely associated than they have been in recent times. Recentism could be a snare. Just a thought.SovalValtos (talk) 02:10, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
