Notability

edit

I would argue that Davies' notability should be self-evident -- he was very prominent in the Australian music scene in the 1970s through Sherbet, his achievements with Olivia, Tina, Janet, Cher and Pink are obvious and his significance as the personal manager of so many internationally prominent female artists must surely be notable in itself.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Dunks58 (talkcontribs) 02:29, 25 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have removed the notability query. As well as Dunks58's points above, the 2008 APRA award, with reference, should clear that point. Mark Hurd (talk) 04:51, 10 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Cher/possibly scam alert

edit

Roger Davies,my name is Roy Michael and way I was on a Cher private site I was talking to a lady then she said do you know you are talking to Cher anyway I asked for a signed photo then she said is that all you want then said how about a meet and greet I told her that I can't afford the price they are asking $1000 to 5000 then she told me don't worry about it I will take care of it then she gave me a personal email wich is official cher privet@gmail.com to talk to her privately then said talk to my manager and gave me this email 001hollywoodmanagement@gmail.com to talk to them about booking a meet and greet with Cher then they wanted $300. Now then $700. Later after I told the lady that says she is Cher she said she would take care of it then she said I didn't have time for this you are not serious about meeting her I thought Cher would not talk to a fan in that way so then I thought it was a scam after I had my hopes up to meet her please let me know if these emails are real or fake Hope to hear back very soon Roy 107.129.76.136 (talk) 01:07, 17 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Roy. Roger Davies will not see this message. But I am a music industry lifer and I can 100% guarantee you that this is a scam. You are not talking to Cher. Do not engage. Do not send any money. I'm so sorry. JSFarman (talk) 17:49, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

"someone close to the source" tag

edit

I did a fully copyedit earlier and don't think a rewrite is necessary. Could it be pared down? Maybe. Perhaps. I'd say the "excessive detail tag" might be warranted, but I tend to prefer more detail than less when given the choice. Happy to discuss. Electricmaster (talk) 18:46, 25 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
